            The March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom took place in Washington, D.C., on August 28, 1963. The goal of the march was to advocate for the civil and economic rights of African-Americans in the United States. This event has been marked by the famous speech of Dr. Martin Luther King in front of the Lincoln Memorial , a real symbol of freedom: “ I have a dream ”. Indeed, he called for an end of legalized racism and segregation. The march was orchestrated by Bayard Rustin and Asa Philip Randolph , both activists. According to multiple sources and the participants themselves, around 200,000 to 300,000 people were in Washington’s streets. Observers estimated that 75% to 80% of the marchers were Black which constitutes a revolution for the Civil Rights movement .      Le 5 novembre 2024 ont eu lieu les élections présidentielles de la première puissance mondiale : les Etats-Unis d’Amérique. Ces élections décisives ont opposé Kamala Harris , actuelle Vice-Présidente Démocrate à Donald Trump , 45e Président des Etats-Unis et milliardaire Républicain. D. Trump a emporté les élections avec 50% contre 48.8% pour K. Harris. En janvier prochain, le milliardaire sera investi en tant que 47e président des Etats-Unis d’Amérique.      Ainsi, les élections américaines demeurent bien différentes du système français. En effet, la structure est basés sur 538 grands électeurs répartis sur les 50 états proportionnellement au nombre d’habitants. Comme en France, les grands électeurs sont des élus locaux (maires, députés, sénateurs…).      Cependant, le principe du “ Winner-Takes-All ” s’applique.
